The WBC offers a wide range of bowls from informal roll-ups with friends to competitive matches: something to suit all skill levels. With some 60 members (about equally divided between gentlemen and ladies) the Club organises a programme to suit all levels of skill and formality. You will be provided with an individual locker and key so you can keep your bowls and shoes safely at the Club.

As a member you have use of the Centre throughout the year and the opening times vary according to the season. During the summer season (mid April to mid Sept) the Outdoor Club(W.B.C.) is open every day, and members gather for informal roll-ups on Monday and Thursday afternoons and Friday evenings. Club triples league matches take place on Tuesday mornings and Australian Pairs league matches on Friday evenings. One or two rinks are usually available for casual bowling and practice.

During the summer season our catering service operates on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10 am until 2.30pm. At other times the bar and catering facilities are operated by members on an as required basis for roll-ups, matches and social events. Enjoy refreshments on our patio overlooking the green or luncheon in our restaurant.

You do not pay green fees when playing on the outdoor green, so all you pay is the joining fee (if you are not already an Indoor member) and an annual subscription. In poor weather you have the option to play indoors, when a fee of £2.40 (or 1 green fee ticket costing £1.80) per session is payable. If you wish to play indoors during the winter months you have to join the Indoor Club.

You are required to wear approved bowls shoes on the artificial green(carpet) and normal dress for informal bowling is "greys". i.e. grey trousers/skirt and white shirt/blouse or club shirt. For matches with other clubs the dress code is usually "Whites". (white trousers/skirt and whiteshirt/blouse or club shirt). Entry to the Centre is by key and which will be supplied at cost. There is a seperate gate entry to the green and bowling equipment store via combination locks.
