Inter-Club Matches

Inter-Club Matches, all of which are friendly and not part of any national or county league, are usually played over 18 or 21 Ends.  For the 2015 season 47 matches have been arranged, equally divided between home and away venues.   Since most outdoor clubs in the Sussex/Kent area are grass, members have the opportunity to play on both all-weather and grass surfaces.  To play in a match, members are required to place their name on a list that is published on the Outdoor Club notice boards.  The Captain will then form teams from the list and advise selected members accordingly.  It is Club policy that, regardless of skill level, all those wishing to play should be guaranteed selection some time in the season.

Car sharing is usually arranged for away matches.  Those at home are punctuated by tea, for which Wealden has an excellent reputation.   This is entirely due to the energetic and enthusiastic membership, all of whom take a turn to help with the catering.
